Kamitan Arts - Poetry 4 Grenfell
Saturday 23 July I 7.30pm
Pay What You Want
The Chelsea Theatre, London, SW10 0DR
Part of the 18 Shows Programme Presented by The Chelsea Theatre.
After a sold-out “Poetry 4 Grenfell” performance and subsequent book launch at the Bush Theatre in July 2018, Kamitan Arts is back with a 25+ ensemble strong show in memory of the 5 year Grenfell Anniversary.
Led by Princess Emmanuelle, a lifelong resident of Ladbroke Grove and founder of Kamitan Arts, the artists and community members will bring us an evening of eclectiv live music to accompany the poetry and 'Word, Sound and Power'. All participants are from the Grenfell community and/or have contributed to the book "Poetry 4 Grenfell - Voices from da Grove and Latimer", a tribute to those affected by the fire.
Performing Arts is used to explore topics of injustice and cultural identity as a way to bring forth social change. The collection of heart-felt, multilingual poems will be shared in different languages, by different ages (3-77).
Suitability: Recommended for audience members to be 8 years+
Length: 3h (including interval)
Doors Open: 7.00pm
Show start: 7.30pm
