RIVER OF LIFE

Exploration of Culture, Moments, Death and Humanity

Kensal Canalside

13 – 31 August 2021

This project was born out of lockdown with four curators and artists, Jarelle Francis, Sara Choudhrey, Linett Kamala, and Theo Gould, responding in different ways to the context of humanity and culture right here right now.

Taking part in Kensington + Chelsea Festival, this project involved many people from the community telling their own stories of life through an array of means of expression: the lens of their phone or camera, as a response to the lockdown through digital art, by dancing to death, or by keeping the spirit of the Carnival alive. These stores remind us that culture can never be cancelled.

This temporary exhibition has been a year in the making.

This project is supported by Ballymore.
