Spurting Man

Saturday 27 August I Afternoon

Avondale Park, 8 Walmer Road, London W11 4EY

Avanti Display presents The Spurting Man - a true spectacle of person, unlike his long-suffering assistant who does not like him. Give some appreciation to the undervalued downtrodden and under-appreciated assistant as he is soaked in 200 litres of water. The pompous Spurting Man appears on his pedestal a demonstrates a series of bizarre displays to Ravel’s Bolero – a show the likes of which you’ve never seen before.

This show uses no spoken word and is suitable for all ages – you may get wet. This free performance is presented outdoors and does not require a ticket. The shows will take place in the afternoon between 1pm and 6pm. This company will perform twice. There will be shows by other companies in the same area to watch each afternoon, with staggered start times.

Scheduled times will be added to the website shortly. Check the website and social media on the day of performance for updated times as the weather may mean the schedule has to change. This location has public toilets. Bring sun cream and/or a coat. Please use public transport if possible rather than driving, take picnic plastic home to recycle and bring refillable drinking flasks.

Notting Dale Future Neighbourhoods 2030
The Future Neighbourhoods 2030 funding programme was launched by the Mayor of London to support a green recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

Did you know that Kensington and Chelsea Council were successful in their bid for funding in 2021 to become one of two Future Neighbourhoods in London? The funding will be spent transforming Notting Dale ward in North Kensington into the UK’s largest eco-neighbourhood; improving its air quality, growing its green economy, reducing health inequalities and working with residents to tackle climate change.

Projects, delivered with the local community, will address some of the most urgent needs and deliver activity with immediate impact across five key themes:
- Fabric First: Notting Dale Goes Net Zero
- Powering Up for the People: Clean, Green and Local Energy
- Creating a Cleaner and Healthier Notting Dale
- Building a Notting Dale Nature Recovery Network
- Creating Green Jobs and Skills Through Circular Economy

The Notting Dale Future Neighbourhoods 2030 programme consists in:
- Developing a long-term co-created vision/environmental strategy for Notting Dale that identifies the needs of the community and is developed together with residents, community groups, key local organisations and local businesses
- Delivery of 30 environmental projects the aim to transform Notting Dale into a greener, fairer, and more resilient neighbourhood for all, bringing multiple benefits for the community

If you have any ideas on how to make Notting Dale a more sustainable ward and/or hear more about the Notting Dale Future Neighbourhoods2030, please write to us at environment@rbkc.gov.uk.
